Cebuano and Bisdak taste buds will soon have Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on their palate. Sometime this September 2011, Cebu will have its first Krispy Kreme outlet in Cebu. And there's more to expect as there are two more planned outlets of Krispy Kreme in Cebu in the future. The Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will soon have its first home at the Ayala Center Cebu.

The Krispy Kreme in the Philippines is run by The Real American Doughnut Co. Inc. which is somehow related to the Max's Group of Companies. According to the Krispy Kreme FunFacts in its website that One of the main reasons why Krispy Kreme Doughnut opened its doors in the Philippines was when the board

Hmmm I don't need to ask why Krispy Kreme is coming to Cebu. I happened to be one of the many Cebuanos who would hand-carry dozens and dozens of Krispy Kreme doughnuts every time I would come to Manila to bring as pasalubong to family, friends and relatives. I would check in my bags and hand carry all those big plastic bags with Krispy Kreme inside in various sizes of packaging. People would often think that i just went to Manila to buy those Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Hmm it gets me thinking though what would i get as pasalubong when i go to Manila now that Krispy Kreme is here in Cebu? Suggestions, anyone?

But now that Krispy Kreme is here in Cebu [at least i'll be counting in days already], I'll have my fill of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts whenever i wanted to without having to travel to Manila. And hopefully i'll be able to say wherever, wishing Krispy Kreme will have delivery service too.
And here's another Funfact about Krispy Kreme, at least something that i knew of - My friends and relatives from Leyte who travel to Manila via Cebu also brought in Krispy Kreme doughnuts from Manila as pasalubong. So they need not travel far anymore as they can just cross Cebu in an hour and have their fill of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The same thing goes with all the Bisdaks in Bohol, Camiguin, Negros and other islands in the Visayas and Mindanao too.
At least Krispy Kreme will not have to compete with our very own version of a donut, the one we call Syakoy, which we can just buy for P10, P5 or less depending on the size and could be found on most thoroughfare and outside public schools and markets. Krispy Kreme is not just for the sosyal as it seems it is marketed as such, at least here in Cebu it has that connotation. But I guess now that it's here in Cebu and it's here to stay, Krispy Kreme will be available to all Cebuanos and not just for those who travel to Manila, then soon Krispy Kreme will be a pang-masa doughnut too.
Oh i can't wait to munch and dunk those Krispy Kreme doughnuts on coffee or hot choco. I just love all Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
