ERUF 25 years of heroism, 25 years of saving lives. Wow! If you had not the slightest idea what ERUF is, take a step back to the recent fires and tragedies in the city and definitely you'll recall their ambulance and trucks hovering
around the scene . ERUF as the name literally says is about emergency rescue and more. ERUF's motto is "We Serve so that Others May Live..." ERUF definitely deserves all our accolade and recognition, but definitely their heroism is something that is priceless.

President Noynoy Aquino is the guest of honor for ERUF's 25th anniversary celebrations. So expect to see other government officials as well on ERUF's 25th anniversary celebrations.
ERUF will have a Multi Response Capabilities Demonstration at 10 am on September 11, 2011 across Park Mall in the North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City. The Cebuanos will have the chance to witness the techniques and world class capabilities of ERUF in areas such as rescue, fire fighting and emergency medical services.
In line with ERUF's 25th year anniversary a Fun Run will highlight the event. The ERUF FUN RUN is dubbed as the ERUF 161 Run. 161 because this is the hotline number when you need to call the ERUF.
The ERUF 161 Run will have these distance categories;
ERUF 161 RUN - 3K
ERUF 161 RUN - 6K
ERUF 161 RUN - 12K
The ERUF Fun Run will just have these short distance categories as perhaps the main focus will not be competitive running but on the celebration of the heroism of ERUF volunteers together with every Cebuanos. ERUF 161 RUN is definitely a Fun Run with a Cause.
The ERUF 161 RUN will have Parkmall in Mandaue City as its Assembly Area for the participating runners. All the runners for the ERUF 161 Run should be at the assembly on or before 5:00 am as the ERUF 161 Run will start at 5:30 am.

Prizes will be given to the top ten overall male and female runners for each category of the ERUF 161 RUN. And since this is a Fun Run, so we might as well expect some runners to be in a costume. I'm sure special prizes will also be given.
