Arnie Alvarez

Data Center & Virtualization Country Lead, Cisco Systems

A regular speaker at industry forums, Mr. Arnie Alvarez has over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology arena.

Currently, Arnie is Cisco’s Data Center & Virtualization Lead for the Philippines. He provides a consultative approach in understanding the customers' business and technical requirements and serves as the cloud and virtualization lead advocate for Cisco Philippines.

Previous to joining Cisco, Arnie was the Commercial Pre-sales team lead for EMC Computer Systems. He was EMC’s mid-range Storage Champion and a member of EMC’s Regional Six Sigma team. Arnie was also the EMC’s chief technology evangelist and the primary spokesperson for marketing campaigns and EMC press briefings.

Anson Uy

President, Sage Software

Anson has been in the IT industry for more than 10 years. He has held 3 years work experience in business process reengineering and data warehousing design related to IT implementation projects which includes operations research, business process documentation, time and motion study and business process implementation and project management. Anson also has 9 years work experience in consulting to Open Source including Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP), mobile and web development. Prior to Sage Software, he has held positions Touch Solutions, United Laboratories & Procter & Gamble.

Ben Sadeghi

Data Scientist, MapR (Asia Pacific & Japan)

Ben has helped companies implement data-driven, machine learning solutions based on Hadoop. Prior to MapR, Ben developed internal and external data products at Wego.com, a travel meta-search site, and worked in the Internet of Things domain at Jawbone where he implemented analytics and predictive applications for the UP Bank self-quantification platform. Before moving to the private sector, Ben contributed to several NASA and JAX.A space missions.

Ben is an active member of the open source Julia language community. He holds an M.Sc. in Computational Physics with an Astrophysics emphasis.

Chris Alviar

System Engineer – Big Data, Cisco Philippines

Chris has been in the IT industry for almost 10 years. Prior to Cisco Philippines, he was an IT Consultant focused on solution selling and technical hands-on experience on VSphere, Microsoft Products like Exchange, Sharepoint, Active Directory, ISA. Chris has also successfully architected solutions for ranging from Network, Messaging and Security, storage products of HP, Dell and EMC from entry to high end storage systems. He also handles the Enterprise Consulting Group and Project Managers in Integrated Computer Systems (ICS).

Chris’ other expertise includes Virtualization, Infrastructure Design, Messaging, Security, Storage and ITIL version 3.

Derek Judge

Business Development, APJ, MapR Technologies

Derek works mainly with MapR’s partner community to deliver value to joint customers across Asia-Pacific and Japan. He has been based in Singapore since 1995, and has more than 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, working mainly in the area of Analytics and Business Intelligence. Derek holds an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University.

Ebbinghans "Bing" Reaport

Datacenter & Virtualization Specialist

Bing Reaport is the Solutions Specialist looking after the Datacenter Business in Cisco Philippines. He has been in the IT industry for the past 10 years starting off as a Solutions Architect for Infrastructure Solutions before becoming a Solutions Specialist in his current role.

He joined Cisco Philippines 3 years ago and together with his team covering the Philippine market, they were able to make Cisco Datacenter Solution as a standard in many of the Enterprise, Corporate, and Service Provider customers.

Prior to Cisco, Bing was the Partner Technology Advisor of Microsoft and a Pre-Sales Consultant of HP Philippines.

Emil V. Capino

President and CTO, Info Alchemy Corporation

Emil has been with Info Alchemy Corporation since 2001. He is one of the company's founder and is responsible for managing the company's Consulting & Implementation Services, Project Management, Applications Development and Technical Support. He is also currently the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of St. Joseph Holdings & Group of Companies, the parent company of Info Alchemy since 2012.

Emil brings with him more than 20 years of IT consulting experience and has been involved in various Data Warehousing (OW), Data Integration and/or Migration, Business Intelligence (Bl), Business Process Management and Application Development projects in the Philippines and other countries.

Since joining Info Alchemy, he has implemented various projects and delivered numerous OW/Bl trainings and workshops with multinational companies. He is also the author of the OW/Bl Specialization Courseware, which was adopted by the MAPUA Institute of Technology as an elective subject for their Computer Science students. Prior to Info Alchemy, he has held various solutions and senior consultant positions at Oracle managing South Asia region including Philippines and Unisys Solutions Services. Emil is a graduate of Dela Salle University and attained a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

Herns Hermida

Senior Business Group Lead of Cloud & Enterprise, Microsoft Philippines

Herns is the business group lead of the Cloud and Enterprise business of Microsoft Philippines. He oversees the marketing, sales and operations of key Microsoft solutions such as Azure, Enterprise Mobility Services, Windows Server platform, SQL Server and application platforms, System Center suite of management solutions, data analytics, and information / data security.

He has been with Microsoft for 3 years, and has been in the IT industry for 21 years.

Jase Nathaniel Tiojanco

Technical Sales Analytics, IBM Philippines

Jase is currently a technical sales specialist from the Analytics – Platform Group of IBM Philippines. He is mainly focused on Big Data and specializes on Hadoop and streaming analytics. Prior to his current role, Jase was a workforce analytics manager for the Asia Pacific region of Citibank NA. He led the technical aspect of the implementation of analytics solutions that analyze the workforce requirements of Citibank country offices. He was also an IT Specialist from the Software Lab Services team of IBM Solutions Delivery. He mainly handled the Information Management and Industry Solutions brands but worked in various WebSphere and Rational projects as well.

He is an alumnus of the University of the Philippines Diliman where he graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Jek Hermida

Solutions Specialist Applications Platform, Microsoft Philippines

Jek is the Data Platform Solution Specialist for Microsoft Philippines, focusing on providing business insights and mission critical line of business solutions with the Microsoft data and cloud platform. Prior to this role, she was the technology strategist for Microsoft's largest enterprise accounts. She has been in the IT industry for almost 20 years, with 9 years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, 6 years in Customer Relationship Management, and 3 years in Price and Margin Management. With multi-region experience in pre-sales and project delivery, including application development – from multi-tier applications to web-architected solutions for a number of industries.

Jek is a graduate of De La Salle University, with a degree in Computer Science, and one of the pioneer Microsoft Certified Trainers in the country.

Joseph Michael "Joel" Garcia

Developer Experience & Evangelism (DX) Lead, Microsoft Philippines

Joel Garcia is the Developer Experience and Evangelism (DX) Lead for Microsoft Philippines and a 23 year IT veteran. His role covers the Microsoft solutions for academe, developers, startups and ISVs. His previous roles were cloud and enterprise business lead for the Philippines as well as Senior product manager for windows server based out of Seattle for 4 years. Joel has played roles in consulting, sales, presales and a founder of his own company.

In the “earlier” days Joel helped architect solutions that ran some of the largest systems in telco prepaid and web architectures across financial services, government and retail. He has helped many companies increase their business agility through their infrastructure and maximizing IT investments.

Jug Mensenares

Data Platform Solutions Architect in Microsoft

helping strategic accounts and partners in putting together solutions and technology adoption roadmaps to scale massive and complex data on premise and on the cloud. He originally joined Microsoft as a Cloud Principal Solutions Specialist. Prior to this, he led a regional presales team in Oracle responsible for building pilots and proofs of concept, including one of the earliest Big Data implementation in Asia.

Kevin Jackson

Global Sales Director, Gravity R&D

Kevin Jackson is a world leader in machine learning and Big Data analytics. Currently, Kevin is actively expanding Gravity’s presence in Southeast Asia and the Middle East working directly with key players in e-commerce, retail, online classifieds, and marketplaces. He also is working with Procter & Gamble on the global rollout of Next Best SKU, a project that utilises machine learning for supply chain optimisation.

Prior to joining Gravity R&D, he was a cofounder of the augmented reality startup, Appshaker, where he worked with clients such as National Geographic, BBC, Guinness World Records, Coke, Universal Studios, and Movistar. He has been involved in technology startups for the past twenty years.

Michelle S. Alarcon

President, R User’s Group & Z-Lift Solutions

Michelle S. Alarcon is a leading analytics and business intelligence executive with 20 years in the IT Consulting industry. She headed the analytics department of a top 3 bank in the Philippines. She also handled service delivery of an offshore center with a leading global technology vendor and had over a hundred people under her management. Her business intelligence and analytics experience encompassed various industries, such as telecommunications, financial services, utilities, logistics and manufacturing.

She is a global executive and a visionary in analytics. She is the President and Managing Director of Z-Lift Solutions, Inc. and chairs the R User group in the Philippines. Her advocacies include bringing analytics to the consumer.
