In honor of World Reef Day, Reef launched its Reef week, raising awareness for coral reef education, conservation, and protection. These highlighted global organizations that shared the same passion.
Reef Philippines collaborated with the Ugly Grouper Organization, a dedicated and passionate group based in Cebu, Philippines, focused on coral rehabilitation and conservation. Founded with the aim of protecting and restoring the delicate ecosystems surrounding Cebu's coastal areas, the organization actively engages in various initiatives to raise awareness, conduct research, and implement effective strategies to preserve coral reefs.
On June 2, 2023, Reef hosted an event with local media publications and digital advocates to share the brand’s efforts in raising awareness to preserve the coral reef of Cebu.
Reef Philippines and over 30 diver volunteers from Ugly Grouper, conducted a coastal clean-up and coral reef planting at Gilutongan Island in Cebu, Philippines, on June 3, 2023. Around 500 coral fragments were successfully planted at two locations around the island. Reef is in a long-term relationship with the beach, thus the brand wants to ensure the world’s beaches, oceans, and reefs are respected and protected.
