CEBU, Philippines-As global capital shifts and supply chains diversify across Asia, the Province of Cebu has officially announced the launch of its flagship economic initiative: the Cebu International Investment Summit 2026 (CIIS 2026).

Scheduled from January 12-16,2026 at the historic Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall, the summit aims to position the province not merely as a world-class tourism destination, but as a formidable base for the "real economy"-spanning manufacturing, healthcare, education, and heavy industry.  Organized by the Cebu Provincial Investment and Promotions Division (CPIPD) in partnership with the Enterprise Economic Council (EEC), CIIS 2026 serves as Cebu's strategic answer to the changing global landscape. As investors seek resilience and stability outside traditional hubs, Cebu is stepping forward to capture high-value opportunities in autoparts, defense-support industries, textiles, and climate-resilient infrastructure.

From Tourism to Trade: A Strategic Pivot"

Capital is on the move, and Cebu is ready to capture it," states the official announcement from the Province. "CIIS 2026 is designed to convert our global visibility-often focused on tourism-into long-term investment pipelines.  We are connecting world capital with real-economy opportunities.

"The summit is strategically timed to precede the Sinulog Festival, one of the grandest cultural events in Asia. This scheduling allows international delegations to engage in high-level boardroom discussions regarding Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and joint ventures before experiencing the cultural vibrancy of the province-blending business pragmatism with Cebuano hospitality.

Targeting Global Powerhouses

CIIS 2026 is set to welcome high-level delegations, CEOs, and sovereign wealth representatives from key economic partners, including South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Mainland China, Taiwan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

The summit will move beyond general discussions, offering a direct look at the Cebu Provincial Investment & Enterprise Code of 2025. Sessions will focus on de-risking entry for foreign capital and showcasing a portfolio of "investable" projects, including:

·Advanced Manufacturing: Auto-parts, electronics, and micromanufacturing.

· Life Sciences: Hospitals, healthcare services, and medical tourism

·Talent Hubs: Education partnerships and workforce development.

·Infrastructure: Power, water, and mobility networks.

A Convergence of Industry Leaders

The event will convene a diverse roster of "Industry Champions," including leaders from top conglomerates such as SM, Megaworld, Cebu Pacific, and Aboitiz, alongside global strategy advisors and policymakers. These voices will provide prospective investors with a clear picture of the regulatory landscape and the local support systems available in Cebu.

"We are building a future-ready hub that combines connectivity, talent, and stability," CPIPD Officer Paulo Uy emphasized. Cebu is open for business, and CIS 2026 is the gateway
