MACTAN — The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry formally launched Cebu Business Month 2026 through a press conference held on April 24, placing focus on one of this year’s key events, the Tourism and MICE Summit titled “Scaling Cebu’s Global MICE Advantage.”

Championing the summit is Josef Victor Chiongbian, Vice President for Internal Affairs of the Cebu MICE Alliance and General Manager of Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown. He is joined by Cleofe Albiso, Cebu MICE Alliance President and Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts (MHR), together with Avinash Menon, Cebu MICE Alliance Board Member and MHR Cluster General Manager for Visayas. Together, the group is driving efforts to reinforce Cebu’s standing as a premier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination in the region.

The summit will open with an overview of the Philippine MICE roadmap, alongside updates on tourism developments and destination assets. By grounding discussions in the local landscape, the program is designed to provide stakeholders with practical and actionable insights before connecting these opportunities to the broader global context.
“Scaling Cebu’s Global MICE Advantage” will bring together industry leaders, tourism stakeholders, and business partners in a focused exchange on how Cebu can strengthen coordination, improve air connectivity, and enhance its overall value proposition as a destination for business events.
Key panel discussions will cover CCCI’s role in tourism growth, air connectivity and destination marketing, along with sessions featuring guest speakers from the tourism and business sectors. These discussions aim to address Cebu’s readiness for larger scale MICE opportunities and the partnerships needed to sustain growth.

The Tourism and MICE Summit is part of the broader CBM 2026 program under the theme “Padayon Cebu,” reflecting CCCI’s continued focus on collaboration, innovation, and industry development. For 2026, CBM aims to go beyond convening sectors by linking ideas to action and conversations to measurable outcomes.
As Cebu continues to strengthen its position as a leading business and tourism hub, the MICE Summit provides a platform for aligning public and private sector efforts toward a more connected and globally competitive destination.
CBM 2026 is led by Overall Chairman Bryan Yap, together with committee heads and industry leaders across entrepreneurship, technology, tourism, creativity, and communications.
