In many communities, a check-up gets put off—not out of neglect, but because the clinic feels too far, the cost too steep, the process too much to deal with.

Matt Marvin Cabalquinto knows this. As President of Oras Punto Diagnostics, he built the center around one simple conviction: healthcare should reach people where they are, when they need it. "We saw many people delaying check-ups due to cost, distance, or inconvenience," he said. "We wanted to change that."

The name says it all. Oras Punto—exact timing. "It means providing accurate and reliable healthcare services exactly when patients need them most." To reach patients who cannot make it to a clinic, Oras Punto runs both in-clinic and mobile services—including a Mobile Clinic and Mobile X-ray. "Not all patients can go to the clinic. By offering both, we ensure inclusivity and convenience for everyone,” he said. The mobile services bring tests directly to communities, companies, and homes. Elderly patients, persons with disabilities, and those in remote areas are among those who benefit most.

Home service, in particular, has shifted how people think about getting tested. When patients do not have to leave the house, they are more likely to follow through. One of its most significant partnerships is with Yakap, which allows the facility to offer free check-ups, free laboratory tests, and free medicines to qualified patients. Through the Yakap Gamot program, patients can receive up to ₱20,000 worth of free medicines per year. "For patients with chronic conditions, this is life-changing. It reduces their financial burden and ensures continuous treatment." More than diagnostics The center's services go beyond the basics. Cancer screening—mammograms, low-dose chest CT scans, colonoscopy, liver ultrasound—is available for early detection.

"When we detect diseases early, treatment becomes less complicated and less costly." Outpatient mental health packages cover depression, psychoses, dementia, substance disorders, and more. "We cannot talk about complete care without including mental wellness," Cabalquinto said

For children aged 0 to 15, Oras Punto offers free eye check-ups and eyeglasses. "When a child sees clearly, their academic performance and confidence improve significantly." Oras Punto Diagnostics has also plans for dental services, an Animal Bite Center, and TB-DOTS. Still expanding Challenges remain—keeping costs down, keeping pace with technology. But Cabalquinto is not backing down. "Through efficient operations and strong partnerships, we maintain quality while keeping our services affordable." More locations are also in the works.

His message to families still putting off check-ups: "Do not delay your health. There are programs and services available to help you. Early detection reduces complications, lowers long-term costs, and saves lives."
