HALLYU IL Partners Once Again for the Cebu Preliminaries of the Changwon K-Pop World Festival 2026

HALLYU IL is honored to once again serve as a partner for the Cebu Preliminaries of the Changwon K-Pop World Festival (CKWF) 2026, one of the most highly anticipated K-pop events in the region.

Every year, K-pop dance cover groups and vocal cover artists eagerly await the announcement of the competition, making it one of the most anticipated events in Cebu's K-pop community. When the Korean Consulate in Cebu once again invited HALLYU IL to help organize this year's edition, the team gladly accepted the opportunity.

HALLYU IL is the longest-running K-pop radio show in the Philippines, having shared Hallyu happiness with listeners for more than seven years. Currently airing on Y101 every Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m., the program attracts listeners from around the world through its online streaming platform, allowing K-pop fans to gather and enjoy their favorite music together. In an industry where K-pop remains a niche format on traditional radio, HALLYU IL continues to provide a unique platform dedicated to Korean music and culture.

The organization is also known for its annual K-pop Dance Cover Contest (KDCC). This year, HALLYU IL has integrated elements of its signature event into the Cebu preliminaries, bringing its trademark brand of fun and community engagement to CKWF 2026. The event will be hosted by HALLYU chingus Angelique Caballo and Jon Chang.

This year's competition drew an impressive response from performers across the country. A total of 50 dance cover groups auditioned, with only 30 advancing to the finals, representing 225 dancers. In the vocal category, 10 acts auditioned, with five finalists advancing to the competition, totaling 10 performers.

The Cebu Preliminaries of the Changwon K-Pop World Festival 2026 will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Activity Center of Ayala Malls Central Bloc. Ayala Malls has long been a strong supporter of K-pop-related events and activities in Cebu.

The competition continues to generate excitement as winners may earn the opportunity to represent Cebu and potentially compete in Changwon, South Korea later this year. Participants this year come not only from Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Talisay City, but also from Koronadal City, Iligan City, Bacolod City, Bohol, and Manila.

The event is organized by the Korean Consulate in Cebu in partnership with HALLYU IL, Y101, the Cebu Korean Association, Inc., and venue partner Ayala Malls Central Bloc. Additional support is provided by Lapu-Lapu Cebu International College, Allied Network Solutions, Gourmet Secrets Catering Services, Cebu Direct Club, Twinbee, Nature's Spring, and Junjet's Productions.
