Forty-five years may have passed since they walked the halls of Saint Theresa's College High School as teenagers, but for the women of STC High School Batch '81, time has only deepened the friendships that began inside their classrooms.
The Blue Sapphire Homecoming 2026 became more than a reunion—it was a heartfelt celebration of a sisterhood built on shared memories, unwavering support, and a bond that has remained unbroken through the decades. From July 19 to 26, classmates traveled from across the globe—including the United States, Canada, Australia, as well as Luzon, Mindanao, and different parts of the Visayas—making their way back to Cebu with one purpose: to reconnect, reminisce, and create new memories together. The week-long celebration reflected the values that Saint Theresa's College has instilled in its students—faith, compassion, service, and community. It began with a relaxing three-day getaway in the beautiful shores of Bantayan Island, allowing classmates to reconnect away from the busy pace of everyday life. Laughter echoed across the beaches as stories from high school days resurfaced, proving that true friendships never fade with time. The celebration also carried a deeper purpose through an outreach activity benefiting Every Child a Reader at Mabolo and Tejero Elementary Schools. The alumni once again demonstrated that giving back remains at the heart of every Theresaian, sharing their blessings with young learners and making the reunion meaningful beyond themselves. A wellness talk on healthy aging reminded classmates that while they may now be in a different season of life, they continue to embrace it with optimism and grace. This was followed by a special luncheon honoring their beloved teachers—an emotional gathering filled with gratitude for the mentors who helped shape the women they have become.
Faith remained central to the homecoming through the Batch Mass, while the evening celebration, "Blue Sapphires Celebrate 6.0!", brought together music, dancing, laughter, and countless embraces as classmates celebrated not only turning sixty but also the priceless gift of lifelong friendship. The homecoming culminated in the grand Jubilarians Program and Dinner, where memories spanning four and a half decades came alive through heartfelt tributes, nostalgic presentations, and joyful reunions. The festivities concluded with a Family Day at Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort, celebrating the enduring legacy of Batch '81.
Behind every successful activity was a remarkable team of volunteers who worked tirelessly for months to make the celebration unforgettable. Every committee went above and beyond expectations, carefully planning each event down to the smallest detail—from logistics and communications to decorations, entertainment, outreach, and hospitality. Their dedication transformed what could have been a simple reunion into an extraordinary homecoming experience that reflected the love and commitment each member has for the batch. Their hard work ensured that every classmate, whether coming from Cebu or halfway around the world, felt warmly welcomed and cherished.
More than the beautifully organized events, however, it was the genuine joy of seeing familiar faces once again that made Blue Sapphire Homecoming 2026 truly special. It served as a reminder that while careers, families, and life may have taken them to different places, the sisterhood forged at Saint Theresa's College remains timeless. As the final hugs were exchanged and promises of "see you again" filled the air, one sentiment resonated among everyone present: this is not the end, but another milestone in a lifelong journey together.
Now, with hearts full of gratitude and memories once again renewed, STC High School Batch '81 eagerly looks ahead to an even more meaningful celebration—their Golden Anniversary Homecoming in 2031. If the Blue Sapphire Homecoming proved anything, it is that forty-five years of friendship only make the bond stronger, and the best celebration is still yet to come.
