The Cebu Online News Press Corps (CONPC) and RMA News have joined forces with ICanServe Foundation, Inc. to intensify breast cancer awareness and early detection advocacy in Cebu as the country observes Pink October this year.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on August 11, 2026, at Abaca Ayala Center Cebu, bringing together media professionals and ICanServe Foundation representatives in a shared commitment to promote breast health and encourage more women to undergo timely screening. The agreement was signed on behalf of ICanServe Foundation by its Public Information Officer, Ron Bernabe, and was witnessed by select members of CONPC and the foundation’s core team. Under the partnership, CONPC and RMA News will provide comprehensive media coverage and communication support for ICanServe Foundation’s Pink October 2026 activities in Cebu. The initiative seeks to expand the reach of breast cancer information and make critical health messages more accessible to communities across the province and beyond. For ICanServe Foundation, effective communication remains an important part of encouraging women to become more proactive about their breast health. “Early detection can make a life-changing difference for women and their families. At ICanServe Foundation, we believe that every woman deserves access to the right information, timely screening, and a support system that empowers her to take charge of her health,” Bernabe said. She emphasized the importance of working with media organizations to extend breast cancer awareness beyond the communities directly reached by the foundation. “Partnerships with organizations like the Cebu Online News Press Corps and RMA News are vital because they help us bring our message beyond the communities we directly reach. By working together, we can amplify awareness, encourage women to prioritize breast health, and inspire more people to take action—because when we inform and empower communities, we create a stronger chance of saving lives,” Bernabe added.CONPC Founder Robby Alugar said the media partnership reflects a broader commitment to using journalism and digital platforms to support initiatives that have a direct impact on public health. “Through our partnership with the ICanServe Foundation, we are committed to using our platforms and reach to amplify important health messages, encourage early detection, and empower more Filipinos to take proactive steps toward their well-being,” Alugar said. “This is more than a media partnership; it is our commitment to use our voice to make a meaningful difference in the community,” he added. ICanServe Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization advocating early breast cancer detection through high-impact information campaigns and community-based screening programs. The foundation also empowers women living with breast cancer by providing access to cancer-related information and helping them become more informed and active participants in their health care. Beyond individual patient support, ICanServe works to strengthen breast cancer support groups throughout the Philippines by helping enhance their capabilities and networks. The partnership with CONPC and RMA News is expected to provide wider public visibility for the foundation’s Pink October activities in Cebu, allowing health information, advocacy messages, and campaign initiatives to reach a broader audience through news coverage and digital media platforms.
As Pink October 2026 unfolds, the organizations are reinforcing a message that remains central to breast cancer advocacy: early detection matters.
By improving access to reliable information and encouraging women to pay closer attention to their breast health, the partnership aims to help build a more informed and proactive community—where early action can lead to better chances of treatment and recovery.
