𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

Buwan ng Wika at Childlink School was more than a celebration of the Filipino language and culture. It became a meaningful opportunity for students to discover how their talents, voices, and relationships with others can create positive contributions to their community and beyond.

The Linkers celebrated Buwan ng Wika through a series of activities that highlighted Filipino history, culture, music, movement, and the importance of collaboration. The celebration began with the students' Hero Oration Presentations, featuring the winners from the different grade levels who portrayed and spoke about Filipino heroes they had chosen to honor. Through their performances, the students were given the opportunity not only to learn about the lives and contributions of Filipino heroes but also to reflect on how they, too, can become responsible and contributing members of their own communities. Adding energy to the celebration was a special performance by the Childlink Dance Group, who showcased their talent through a Filipino song. Students also participated in various traditional Filipino games, bringing fun, movement, and camaraderie to the celebration. Childlink's celebration of Filipino history and culture also extended beyond the school community. Three Linkers were invited to present an oratorical performance on Filipino heroes during the History Month Lecture, organized by the City of Cebu through the Cultural and Historical Affairs Office, with the theme “Lakbit Saysay sa Dakbayan sa Sugbu"held at the Cebu City Museum.  For its support and contribution to the successful celebration of History Month through the students' special presentation, Childlink School, through its School President, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Cebu. But perhaps the most memorable part of the day was the celebration of music, friendship, and international collaboration through a special concert by the UUU Orchestra.

Composed of approximately 70 musicians from across Japan, the UUU Orchestra came to Cebu as part of its continuing efforts to support concerts and music education programs organized by NPO Seven Spirit in the Philippines. The musicians brought with them an impressive array of 14 different instruments, giving the Linkers an opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of orchestral music. The orchestra delighted the students with a varied repertoire that included Retro Music, The Syncopated Clock, September, a Bruno Mars Medley, The Sound of Music, a K-Pop Demon Hunters Medley, and other exciting performances. The concert concluded with “We're All in This Together” from the Disney movie High School Musical—a fitting message for a celebration centered on friendship, community, and working together. Before the UUU Orchestra took the stage, the Childlink Rondalla also showcased the musical talents of the Linkers, creating a beautiful exchange of music and culture between Filipino students and their Japanese guests.

For Childlink, the collaboration with the UUU Orchestra was more than a musical event. It gave students a concrete experience of what global friendship and collaboration can mean. They saw how people from different cultures and communities can come together, share their talents, learn from one another, and support the development of young people. In this way, the celebration of Buwan ng Wika became a celebration not only of being Filipino, but also of understanding one's role as a member of a larger global community. At Childlink, activities are carefully planned with the intention of bringing the school's Vision and Mission to life through meaningful experiences. Every performance, collaboration, and celebration becomes an opportunity for students to develop the skills, values, confidence, and sense of responsibility they need to make a difference.

It was indeed a day to remember—a day when culture, history, music, friendship, and community came together to remind every Linker that learning is not simply about gaining knowledge, but about discovering how “I” can become “we,” and how “we” can make a difference.
