LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The Mactan Newtown is turning pink this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, joining efforts to promote early detection and show support for patients, survivors and families affected by the disease.
Together with the ICanServe Foundation, supporting organizations and breast cancer survivors, Mactan Newtown locators are capturing pink moments around the township to raise awareness and express solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.
Under the message “A little pink, a powerful purpose,” the initiative uses pink lighting and community participation to encourage conversations about breast cancer and remind patients and their loved ones that they are not alone.
The campaign highlights the importance of early detection while recognizing the experiences of those undergoing treatment, survivors and the families and caregivers who support them.
Observed every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month encourages greater attention to breast health, screening and early diagnosis. It also provides an opportunity for communities to support patients and promote awareness.
Through the initiative, The Mactan Newtown joins the broader awareness campaign, turning everyday moments around the township into visible expressions of hope and solidarity.
Beyond the pink displays and photographs, the message is clear: raising awareness, encouraging early detection and building a community where those affected by breast cancer feel supported.
